Welcome to the

NISN Charter School

Facilities Resource Hub

It is amazing what can be accomplished when our hearts and minds work together. See how communities and schools are creating facilities that affirm cultural core values and support educational excellence.

Maintaining Cultural Identity: This video highlights how buildings can influence and support the ways in which schools uplift the cultural identities present in their community.

The NACA Inspired Schools Network (NISN) has developed a collection of resources to inform, educate, and support school leaders and other education stakeholders. Content is designed to help new and existing charter schools in urban, rural, and tribal areas to create facilities that promote healthy and excellent communities of learning.

This work was funded through a grant by the U.S. Department of Education’s Charter Schools Program (Award #U282T180018). NISN’s technical assistance and facilities development team worked with charter schools in five states, architects, consultants, educational agencies, funders, and other experts to determine effective practices, identify and test supports, and develop sound processes for schools to plan, design, fund, and build facilities. Content includes stories, videos, topic education and curricula, assistance opportunities, and tools to help create environments where talent can flourish.

Visitors can use the navigation menus or links below to browse content areas or visit the “Navigating this Site and Resources” page for guidance in identifying and sequencing learning based on interest areas and school development characteristics.
