DETAILS

The Foundation seeks to support proposals that fall into the following broad categories: education, health and human services, civic improvements, and the arts. There is a history of supporting charter schools that includes providing capital support.

Eligibility Details: 

Tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations primarily located in the Midwest with strong emphasis on Missouri and Kansas. Organizations outside of Missouri and Kansas should contact the Foundation to inquire about applying before submitting an application.

Example Projects:
  • $1,500,000 to KIPP St. Louis (St. Louis, MO) for the Phase II growth campaign.
  • $150,000 to Académie Lafayette Charter School (St. Louis, MO) to support K-8 Expansion, Phase I of the K–12 Growth Plan capital campaign.
  • $50,000 to Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls (St. Louis, MO) to support building renovations through a capital campaign for this all-girl public charter school.
  • $50,000 to Horizon Academy (Roeland Park, KS) to support a major gifts campaign, scholarships, program development, teacher training, and facility renovations.
Application Details:

Mail application to the Foundation (see contact information below). The application should include: brief description of the organization; summary of the project; goals and plan for implementation; other sources of support, including corporate/foundation names and amounts committed; budget for project and future funding plans; timetable with specific, measurable objectives; method of evaluation; organization’s most recent audited financial statement and a budget for the current year; list of the board of directors, including identification of the President/Chair; and IRS determination letter.
